UEFA Champions League

Chelsea's Potential Starting Eleven Against Zenit Saint Petersburg.

European Champions Chelsea welcome Russian side Zenit Saint Petersburg to Stamford Bridge for their first Champions League game of the season. Chelsea, hope to start their title defense with a win tonight, so we can expect Thomas Tuchel to name a strong starting eleven for this game.

Here is how we think Chelsea will line up against Zenit Saint Petersburg.

In goal, Édouard Mendy should retain his place after a brilliant performance over the weekend.

In defense, Andreas Christensen should start at the middle of a three-man defense, thus replacing Thiago Silva. César Azpilicueta and Trevoh Chalobah should come in as Antonio Rüdiger may get a much-needed rest for today's game.

Ben Chilwell is expected to start his first game of the season at left wing back, while Reece James should return to the starting eleven for this game.

In Midfield, we expect Mateo Kovaćić to play alongside Jorginho in the heart of Chelsea's midfield. We expect Tuchel to rest N'Golo Kanté as he continues his journey to achieving full fitness.

In attack, Mason Mount should play behind the two-man forwards Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner, as we think Tuchel may want to try the Lukaku and Werner combination for the first time this season.
