Manchester United are plotting a move to sign Jeff Hendrick on a free transfer following his exit from Burnley - according to reports. The Republic of Ireland international midfielder is a free agent after leaving Burnley, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may be about to enter the scramble for the 28-year-old's signature.
The Republic of Ireland international played across the midfield, including on the right for Burnley, he has made 22 appearances in the league this season. In doing so, Hendrick proved effective in both defence and attack for Sean Dyche’s side. What’s more, United feel they should consider a move given he is a free agent.
In general, Hendrick racked up 139 appearances for Burnley after joining from Derby in 2016. He has also earned 54 caps for his native Ireland, making his international debut back in 2013.
United supporters are not sure about the legitimacy of the rumour or how Hendrick would fit into Solskjaer’s current set-up but the fact that an established midfielder is available without a transfer fee attached means that it’s no secret that several big teams are interested.
