29-Year-Old Former Chelsea Attacker Retires From Football Early: Read Why He Retired Early

Former Chelsea winger Andre Schürrle has retired from football at the 29 and it comes as a shock for the entire football world. The World Cup winner has stated the reason why he left football after 11 years in the game.

Andre Schurrle was an explosive winger who can also play as a false nine or the sexond striker. He played for Chelsea and he scored 11 league goals for the blues. Andre Schürrle also won the Premier League with the blues in 2014/2015 season.

Schürrle took to instagram to announce that he had canceled his contract with Borussia Dortmund and he will be retiring from football. He said in an interview to German newspaper Dei Speigel “The decision has matured in me for a long time now. I no longer needed the applauds. The depths became deeper and the highlights less and less”.

The World Cup Winner posted the news on his Instagram account. He said:

Hi all, I want to let you know that I’m stepping away from playing professional football !!

On behalf of myself and my family I want to thank everybody who was a part of these phenomenal years! The support and love you shared with me was unbelievable and more I could have ever asked for! 

Now I’m ready and open for all the beautiful possibilities that are coming towards me 😍
