BOD 6-1 ROMA: Mourinho's post-match comments last night are enough reason for fans to trust him

Jose Mourinho suffered the heaviest defeat in his managerial career on Thursday night as AS Roma lost 6-1 to Norwegian side Bodo-Glimt in the UEFA Europa Conference League.

At the final whistle, Roma’s players went over to apologise to the away fans who had travelled to northern Norway, and were greeted with jeers and whistles.

After the match, Mourinho came before the media and took responsibility for the defeat.

"The responsibility is mine. I lined up players who played less. I decided to make these changes and rest many players. We lost to a team that has more quality than us. Bodo has more quality than our starters tonight. It's that simple."

After going through his statement, I came to the conclusion that Mourinho deserves more trust from the AS Roma fans for taking responsibility for the defeat, Rather than looking for excuses.

Some AS Roma fans were unhappy with the starting XI he used, but Mourinho made the right call to rest his key players in a game in which he expected the players he picked to deliver, but unfortunately, they let him down.

Mourinho has learnt a big lesson and has taken the blame for the heavy defeat. Hence, fans must repay him by sticking with him.
