MCI 2 VS 0 RMA: Recap of the first half as Manchester City edge closer to the UCL final

Pep Guardiola and his men locked horns with Real Madrid in the second leg of the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League competition. The last time both teams met, the match ended in a 1-1 draw. The home side lined up in a 4-3-3 formation while the visiting team started the game in a 3-2-4-1 formation.

Guardiola's men kept mounting pressure as they won a corner in the 20th minute but Haaland could not score with his header.

The deadlock was finally broken as B. Silva gave Manchester City the lead in the 24th minute. Haaland came close to scoring a second goal in the 26th minute. Real Madrid kept searching for their first attempt at a goal. Real Madrid won their first corner in the 33rd minute. B. Silva found the back of the net again in the 35th minute to give Manchester City a 2-goal lead. The home side kept pushing for a third goal as they won a corner in the 40th minute. B. Silva had his shot saved by Courtois in the 43rd minute. The first 45 minutes ended with Real Madrid trailing Manchester City by 2 goals to nil.
