Kelechi Ịheanachọ was the hero of the night for the Super Eagles of Nigeria yesterday when they kick-started their FIFA World Cup qualifiers campaign against Liberia at the Teslim Balogun, as he scored a brilliant brace that sealed the whole three points for the host which placed the at the top of the Group C table with 3 points in 1 game played.
Kelechi Ịheanachọ was at top notch for the Gernot Rohr's side with his two first half goals separating the two sides at full time and as such build confidence in them going into their next fixture against Cape Verde.
The former Manchester City star opened the scoring sheet in the 22nd minutes to make it one nil before he was able to double the lead in the 44th minutes to make it two going into the half time break.
The tempo of the game got tensed up in the second half as they both displayed some dazzling skills but none was able to found the back of the net with all attempts to add more to the tally of the night proving abortive, and it ended two nil at full time.
After the game, Kelechi Ịheanachọ reacted with a post via his verified Instagram handle where he expressed his happiness to kick-start the World Cup qualifiers campaign in a great way. He also showed his excitement to be on the score sheet by netting a brace for the team.
Consequent to the post, English premier league star and fellow Leicester City teammate James Maddison, top Nigerian celebrities and fellow Nigerian stars have all reacted by congratulating the forward maestro for showing yet another class in the thrilling encounter.
Kelechi Ịheanachọ will now be looking forward to keep his goal scoring form going for the Super Eagles in their next fixture.
