Premier League

Two Underdogs, Chelsea And Arsenal Stun The Watching World To Prove Football Is Ever Unpredictable.

Football witnessed another upset as Arsenal knocked out huge favorites Manchester City from the FA Cup to advance to the final slated to be played on the 1st of August.

And just 24 hours later, Chelsea followed suit by beating Manchester United to complete the underdogs story and set up an all-London final.

Nobody gave Arsenal a chance when they were paired up against Man City, and all hopes of the Gunners doing the unthinkable were virtually lost when the Citizens annihilated them at the Etihad in their first match after the restart.

But it wasn't to be at Wembley, as Arsenal made a mockery of City's carefully assembled squad worth a reported £1.16 billion value.

Aubameyang opened the scoring with a deft touch after connecting smoothly with Pepe's cross to punish City's lackluster defending.

Although City pressed for an equalizer long stretches of time, Arsenal would have the last laugh when Aubameyang once again showed why he's one of the best strikers around; racing away to slide the ball under Ederson to all but put the game to bed.

All thoughts about Manchester United at least to be the only Manchester-based side in the final were quickly vanquished as Chelsea pummelled them 3-1 to send a message to final opponents Arsenal.

An first half stoppage time goal from Olivier Giroud, coupled with second half goals from Mason Mount and Harry Maguire (OG) was enough to break all Manchester hearts.

But then, nobody saw this coming.

Manchester City is the defending champions of the FA Cup and for them to make it all the way to the semifinal means one thing - they are intent on retaining the title once more.

This was also their first loss in domestic cup competitions for more than two and half years; so just imagine the gravity of what Arsenal pulled off at Wembley.

Chelsea on the other hand were up against a United side that has been unbeaten in 19 games prior to the match.

In 3 previous meetings this season between both sides, Chelsea lost all three - twice in Premier League and once in EFL Cup.

But then, what happened when both teams met yet again for the 4th time at Wembley?

A classy, unexpected display from the Blues against a woeful performance from the Red Devils.

Once again, Chelsea and Arsenal who many thought would be eliminated proved just why football is ever unpredictable.
