How Man United could line up under Ralf Rangnick

Manchester United are on the verge of appointing Ralf Rangnick as manager for the remainder of the season on a six-month contract.

The man who inspired Jurgen Klopp, Thomas Tuchel, and Julian Naglesmann will now take over at United.

The 63-year-old is currently the sporting director of Lokomotiv Moscow, but he is best known for revolutionizing modern German tactics, founding 'gegenpressing,' and inspiring a generation of German managers.

Rangnick was successful at Leipzig with a 4-2-2-2 formation that reverted to a 4-4-2 when not in possession, and the German will be eager to use United's quick, attacking players as he brings his pressing game to Old Trafford.

Rangnick's high-pressing, intense philosophy was extremely successful in the Bundesliga, and he always plays with two strikers.

United's possible line-up under Rangnrick - De Gea, Wan Bissaka, Maguire, Varane, Shaw; Fred, Van de Beek, Sancho, Rashford; Ronaldo, Greenwood.

Van de Beek, who was an outcast under Solskjaer, could benefit from playing in an intricate midfield.

Rangnick, if appointed, will not take charge of United's next game against Chelsea, which means he could make his debut against Arsenal at home.
