Injury crippled Barcelona blanked a frustrated Real Madrid side, grinding out a tricky 1-0 win in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final. The Blaugrana took the lead against the run of play after Eder Militao turned a loose ball into his own net after a careless back pass from Eduardo Camavinga. Barcelona were happy to absorb pressure for the remainder of proceedings, with Europe's best defence leaving Madrid frustrated.
Here are the three Real Madrid players who performed well despite their loss to Barcelona
Toni Kroos
Once again, one of the only players on Real Madrid who actually performed well. Kroos barely misplaced a pass, made some nice switches of play, offered excellent defensive cover, won fouls in tight areas, made no mistakes, and offered a great deal of control for Madrid. Control that the front line, once again, wasted.
Toni Rudiger
Rudiger was solid defensively. Improved with his passing under pressure.
Nacho
Looked good at left-back, dispossesing Raphinha on multiple 1 v 1 occasions and getting up the pitch as much as possible.
