CAF Showers Praise On Nigeria After The Golden Eaglets Booked A Spot In AFCON U-17 Q/F Stage

The African football governing body popularly known as CAF has reacted after the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria came from behind twice to beat South Africa in the ongoing U-17 Africa Cup of Nations tournament at the Stade Mohammed Hamlaoui, Constantine.

The Nduka Ugbade led team were very resilient with their level of performance as they gave a good fighting spirit, which helped them to secure the whole three points needed to get advanced to the next stage of the competition.

Nigeria in the game were able to return to winning ways after their last disappointing and shocking one nil defeat against Morocco thereby accrued a total of six points, having won their opening group stage game against Zambia.

Vicky Mkhawana opened the scoring sheet for South Africa to make it one nil before Charles Agada got Nigeria levelled with an equalizer to make it 1-1, after which Siyabonga Mabena gave his side yet another lead as Nigeria trailed from behind going into the half time break which ended two goals to one.

Nigeria in the second 45 minutes of the game were able to get their form back on track as they scored two second half goals from Light Eke and Abubakar Abdullahi which gave them the lead by making it three goals to two, which was also the final scoreline at full time.

After the game, CAF reacted to this incredible and well deserved victory with a post via their verified Twitter handle with the caption indicating that Nigeria are soaring high having secured their spot in the quarter finals stage of the AFCON U-17 competition, with this complemented with a clap emoji for the job well done.
