The international break is almost over and players who were called up by their different national teams will now be expected to return to their respective clubs. Romelu Lukaku's Injury will see Kai Havertz return to his former position as a central farward. While Timo Werner and Mason Mount will be starting in that attacking midfield position to support Havertz. N'golo Kante is not fully fit and will continue to maintain fitness and this will allow the likes Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Saul and Matteo Kovacic to pair with Jorginho in that midfield.
The truth of the matter is that one academy player have continued to impress for the blues in training and Tuchel might be obliged to introduce Xavier Mbuyamba to his starting lineup against Brentford. The Dutchman have been likened to Van Dijk in his pattern of play. Thomas Tuchel already has options like Trevoh Chalobah and Andreas Christensen.
