Have a look at John Ogu reaction to recent events in Nigeria

John Ogu who is a Nigerian footballer and has 26 caps for the Nigerian Super Eagles. He is currently a free agent after leaving Saudi Arabian club Al-Adalah in September. He was part of the Nigeria National team that finished at third place during the 2019 African cup of Nation.

John has been involved in the protest and has witness how peaceful and how violent the protest has been in Lagos.

During his interview with BBC World Service radio, he said "we want a good government, police brutality should stop, we want SARS to end, stop killing, we want good laws and job opportunities.

"How can I go to the national team to represent my country, government and the people, when I'm thinking of the lost souls of those who have been killed?"

" I haven't spoken to any of my national team mates yet about this, there are games coming up and if we boycott these games, I'm sure they will know we have made a statement. I believe this will be the best thing to do right now until they listen to us.

Nigeria next match will be an Africa cup of Nation 2022 against Sierra Leone in November.
