Arsenal Defender Rejects New Contract Offer As Interested Clubs Make Approach To Sign Him

Arsenal have a great group of defenders and are currently chasing the signing of Ben White from Brighton and Hove Albion for a reported fee of about 50 million pounds. The Gunners also have French defensive sensation William Saliba coming back from loan after his move to the Emirates stadium two years ago for 30 million pounds.

The Gunners are also in a good position with the academy youngsters. But surprisingly, highly rated defensive starlet Daniel Oyegoke turned down Arsenal's offer of a professional contract. The news was reported by reliable journalist Charles Watts and it has been claimed that Brentford are very interested in signing up the youngster.

The 18 year old played most of his football with the Arsenal U23s this season despite being eligible for the younger category which indicates that he is highly talented and rated but it is a surprise that he turned down Arsenal's offer of his first professional contract.

Reports have now emerged that more clubs are interested in signing up the defender and amongst the clubs mentioned are Newcastle, Sheffield United and Norwich City. Arsenal are expected to receive a small compensation fee if Oyegoke completes a move to any of the aforementioned clubs.
