Heading into the match, Liverpool would be very confident of getting all three points as they are presently the most in-form team in the league while Manchester United's results have been patchy in recent times.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Manchester United would, therefore, have to be firing on all cylinders if they are to win the match. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could ensure this by picking the right team and the right set of players.
That said, below are three players the Manchester United manager should start against Liverpool to give the Red Devils a better chance of winning:
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has broken the bad news that all Manchester United fans don't want to hear; Bruno Fernandes is a doubt for the match against Liverpool.
The Portuguese star is however back in training and he is fighting to be available. Bruno Fernandes assisted two goals against Atalanta and he is presently the most dangerous midfielder Manchester United has. Therefore, Ole needs to do everything possible to ensure that Bruno Fernandes is fit for the match because if he plays from the start, the Red Devils would have a better chance of winning the match.
2. Marcus Rashford
The 23-year-old has been in superb form for Manchester United since he returned from injury. He was subbed off against Atalanta and in the 66th-minute after seemingly picking up a knock. If he is available against Liverpool, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has to start him as he has a very good goal-scoring record against the Merseyside club.
3. Edinson Cavani
Starting Cavani from the off would help Manchester United to take control of the midfield and press higher up the pitch. Edinson Cavani has the energy to lead Manchester United's press and if he is started and he does this to perfection, he would prevent Liverpool from having too much time on the ball. This would give Manchester United more chances of winning.
For this to happen though, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer must find a way of starting both Edinson Cavani and Cristiano Ronaldo together.
