Some Manchester United fans on the Internet have reacted as Frenkie de Jong said that he wants to stay at Barcelona for many more years despite his links with the Premier League Club in the summer.
de Jong since he joined Barcelona has shown that he will love to be part of the club's history by winning a lot of trophies during his time. The journey has not been too rosy for him but he is doing his best to show Xavi that he is ready whenever they needs his service.
de Jong started in Barcelona's game against Manchester United in the Europa League knock-out rounds as Manchester United knocked them out of the completion. Barcelona's exit leaves them with the opportunity to focus on the league and a few other domestic trophies.
However, Frenkie de Jong on his future said: “I’m very calm here, very happy at Barça. I want to stay in Barcelona for many more years."
This comment from de Jong looks like someone who has made up his mind and it's now left for the club to keep him by placing their trust in his quality. Although, Xavi has said it several times that the midfielder is an integral part of his squad and he hopes he will help them achieve greater things soon.
Manchester United will need to offer him a luxury deal and sell some players in the summer to sign him.
