CHE 0-1 MCI: Guardiola gets his revenge on Tuchel, as Chelsea's unbeaten start comes to an end.

The European champions, Chelsea hosted the defending champions in the premier league, Manchester City, at Stamford Bridge on Saturday 25th September.

Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel started with a strange 3-5-2 formation, comprising of 5 defenders in Recce James, Aziplicueta, Rudiger, Christensen, and Alonso, 3 defensive midfielders; Jorginho, Kovacic and Kante, and two strikers in Werner and Lukaku.

Manchester City's manager, Pep Guardiola, on the other hand, used a 4-2-3-1 formation; Walker, Dias, Larporte, Cancelo in the back four. Rodrigo and Bernardo behind Grealish, Gabriel Jesus, De Bruyne, and Foden in front.

The first half of the game ended in a goalless draw with the two teams recording 0 shot on goal. Gabriel Jesus came to the rescue for the citizens in the 53rd minute after Joao Cancelo found him with a ground pass inside the box and he stabbed the ball low inside the left post.

The host recorded only 5 goal attempts with 0 shots on target after 90 minutes. While City recorded 15 goal attempts with 4 shots on target.

Following the narrow win over Chelsea, Man City leapfrogged to the top of the premier league table with 13 points and Chelsea went down to third.
