Being a Premier League player is one of the must physically tasking things to do in football. It is also highly demanding mentally and emotionally. Timo Werner is experiencing the stakes first hand and has been living it since he came to Chelsea from RB Leipzig last summer.
During the match against Real Madrid, he became the only Premier League player this season to miss 21 big chances. For those who do not know, big chances are calculated as the likelihood of a player scoring a goal that would seem almost impossible to miss.
All players miss big chances. It actually shows that they consistently get into good goal scoring positions and just need to work on their finishing. In Werner's case, he has only scored 8 big chances so far with two of those being penalties while missing 21.
There should now be cause to worry because it does not seem like it is going to get better any time soon for the German striker.
