Top 3 best Chelsea academy graduate of the last decade

Since the beginning of the Roman Abramovich era, the Chelsea academy have been one of the best in Europe and with their youth team challenging for trophies in both England and Europe.

Although, the club is infamous for sending most of their graduates out on loan and maybe selling them later without giving them later without giving them an opportunity to make the first team.

On that note, here are some three successful Chelsea graduates over the last decade, Without further ado, let’s get started:

1)     Mason mount

The recently named Chelsea’s player of the year, mason mount is steadily rising into stardom.

Mount have been in Chelsea academy since the age of six and has risen through the ranks at the club and finally making it into the first team

In 2017, during his loan spell in Vitesse Arnhem in Holland he was named Vitesse player of the year after scoring 14 goals and helping them qualify for the Europa League the next season. He had another amazing loan spell in Derby County where he did amazing under the ex-Chelsea Frank Lampard, and registering 16 goals and assists.

During the 2020/2021 season, he finished the campaign with 21 goals and assists and also setting up the Champions League winner for Kai Havertz.

2)     Andreas Christensen  

He is one who has been amazing since the beginning of the Thomas Tuchel era in Chelsea. He joined the Chelsea academy from Brondby in 2012 at the age of 16. After winning the FA Youth Cup and UEFA Youth league with the club academy. He was sent on loan to Borussia Monchengladbach.

He returned back to the Chelsea team in 2017 and was an integral team of the Antonio Conte’s side. Recently, the Cobham-made has been amazing and this season he has been amazing and have been given quality play time by Thomas Tuchel.

3)     Reece James

Another highly promising youngster to have come through the Chelsea academy is Reece James. He was one of the players brought back into the team by Frank Lampard after a successful loan spell in Wigan Athletic in the 2018/2019 championship.

He has a regular start under Thomas Tuchel and has become a key player at the Stamford Brige in the past two seasons. During the last Champions league finals, he literally pocket Raheem Sterling. At just 21, the academy graduate is hope to be an integral part of both club and country in future.
