Footballing giants, Football Club Barcelona conducted an election to elect a new president for the club as they traditionally do over the years.
Joan Laporta won the 2021 election to become the president of football giants, Barcelona. The voting exercise which saw, Lionel Messi and his son in attendance to vote for a new president for the club.
In his first words as the president of Barcelona, Joan Laporta has put a smile to the face of many Barcelona fans with what he said about Lionel Messi. The Argentinian superstar, wanted to leave the club last summer but a move away didn't materialise and he ended up staying in Spain.

"Joan Laporta: "The fact that the best player in the world came to vote today, along with his son, is proof that Leo Messi loves Barca."
This might mean Messi will stay at the club, longer than expected after what happened between him and the Barcelona hierarchy last summer.
