Mane claims it is unacceptable for teammate to be snubbed for the Best Player award

Senegal International who plays for Liverpool has claimed that fellow International teammate Edouard Mendy shouldn't have been snubbed from the 30 man shortlist for the Best Player (Ballon d'Or) award. This happened during his international duty for Senegal for World Cup qualification.

Edouard Mendy, who arrived from Rennes for a fee of £22m, kept nine (9) clean sheet in twelve (12) Champions league appearances for Chelsea. By so doing, he equalled the record kept by Santiago Canizares and Keylor Navas for the most clean sheet in a Champions league campaign.

Edouard Mendy also won the Yanshi award last season which is awarded to the goalkeeper with the most clean sheet in a Champions league season. Some of Mendy's teammate at Chelsea which includes the likes of Cesar Azpilicueta, Kante, Jorginho, Mason Mount and Romelu Lukaku all made it to the 30 man shortlist for the Ballon d'Or award.

During his International duty, the Liverpool star said; "It is unacceptable. I do not understand".

Kindly drop comments if you think Mendy should have been nominated for the award. Don't forget to Like, Share and Follow to get more related posts.
