The Present Generation Of Talents At Man Utd Are Too Good To Settle For Another Trophyless Season

Words may never be enough to adequately describe how disappointing Manchester United have been in the last 8 years. Since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson, three managers have come and gone as the Red Devils gradually transformed from title contenders to pretenders. In a bit to overhaul the aging squad left behind by Ferguson in 2013, over £1 billion has been expended to bring in fresh players, but while some flourished, others were massive flops.

Moreso, United equally looked into their youth academy and provided a system whereby young graduates can be given a chance to shine on the big stage, that's why we have seen the likes of Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard, Mason Greenwood and Scott Mctominay featuring in the first team.

However, inspite of all the resources, the Red Devils have been struggling to maintain their rich tradition of winning silverwares and the fact that their brilliant squad is under the tutelage of an unsuccessful manager is doing little to help their cause. Since their Europa league triumph in 2017 with Jose Mourinho, the closest United have come to winning another major silverware was in the same Europa league where they lost on penalty shoot-out to Villarreal last season.

It has been four long years without a trophy, but with the way they have been inconsistent this campaign, it doesn't look like they are serious about changing their situation anytime soon. If a team wants to change things in a big way, then there's a need to make some big changes and as it stands, the Glazers' are reluctant in taking that decisive approach. Everyone is well aware that United are currently missing the right management to steer them back to the glory days and the longer the keep having faith in something that has proven ineffective, the harder it will become for them to finish the season on a high.

There has never been a better time for United to reassert their authority in world football than now, its been four long years of mediocrity, four long years of settling for less. The Red Devils are the most decorated team in England, they are among the best in the world and it is high time they realized that their present generation of talents are too good to settle for another trophyless season.
