Following their 3-0 loss to Liverpool which left Arsenal fans not to impressed, they faced a Slavia Prague side in the quarter-finals of the Europa League.
With the first-half of the match ending in a goalless draw, Arteta brought on Pepe & Aubameyang in the second half and that change would prove effective as Pepe scored a goal in the 86th minute for Arsenal.
But just minute to end the match, drama ensued as Arsenal conceded a late goal to end the first leg at the Emirates 1-1.
Arsenal had lots of chances to win the match, but couldn't take advantage especially the miss from Lacazatte and Saka.
Mikel Arteta while Speaking to BT Sport after the match said
"The game was under control. We got the goal we wanted but we missed some big chances as well. We played two or three balls we shouldn't do and we put ourselves on the back foot and conceded the corner. They put bodies in there and it can happen. It changes the feeling after the game.
"We know that we had the possibility to change things with five substitutes. We thought it was the right time for the set-up we had. It was the right moment and they had a big impact. We know the subs have a lot to say in this competition. Unfortunately we didn't capitalise on it."
On the next leg : "We need to win the game. The mindset is to win the game, we need to score, we've done it before and we need to do it again."
