Ajibade Babalade Babalade was an ex Super Eagle who passed away on Friday September 4, 2020 in Ibadan. He died of cardiac arrest.

He passed on at age 48. According to Wikipedia, his last known job was working with 3SC as their team chef.

His passing really comes at a sad time as the world is still trying to shake itself bake to normal from the destruction caused by the Corona Virus.


Upon hearing the news, many Nigerians took to twiter to offer their condolences. See their reactions below.


He was part of the Super Eagles side that claimed bronze at the 1992 AFCON. At club level, he played for Stationary Stores, 3SC, African Sports, Anyang LG Cheetahs (Korea), SK Sturm Graz (Austria) and Indian club Mohun Bagan AC.

It is gathered that he died while at the gate of the University College Hospital, Ibadan, after being rejected treatment by an unidentified private hospital. This is as reported by The Nations online.
