W/C Qualifiers: Why The Super Eagles Need To Win Thier Next Match Against Central African Republic.

Sports lovers and supporters of the Nigerian football team are still reacting to the Super Eagle's shocking 1 – 0 defeat to the Central African Republic. Despite going into the match as favourites, Nigeria went on to lose the match. However, Nigeria still sits top of their qualifying group. Hence, they need to ensure they win the return leg to remain top.

Before they get to play the return leg today, the Eagles should not panic at all. Even if the NFF described their last loss as shocking, Nigeria still sits in a comfortable position in their group, which consists of Liberia, Cape Verde and the Central African Republic.

While a calm attitude is best for the Eagles, they should not be too relaxed. Anything apart from a victory could put them in a dangerous position. For this reason, the Super Eagles need to win their next match.

Haven won in two of their last two games before their shocking loss, losing two out of the next two could lead to chaos in the national team. This would mean that the country is not on the right path heading into 2022 when they will play in two of the biggest tournaments African countries participate in.

As the 2022 FIFA World Cup and Cup of Nations come up next year, losing twice to a lower country like the Central African Republic does not mean well for Nigeria's chances in those competitions. To gather the right momentum going forward, the Super Eagles need to ensure they get maximum points against their opponent this time around.

Furthermore, should the Eagles fail to win, they will be under much more pressure when they play other teams in their group. Should that happen, the pressure may be too much, which could cost them their 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying ticket. To avoid such a scenario, the Eagles have to ensure they win against the Central African Republic.

As the Super Eagles are facing off against the same country who inflicted their last defeat on them, it should serve as the right reason to beat them in return. If qualifying is not enough reason to be motivated, the spirit of vengeance should. To show that their last defeat some days ago was just a mistake, the Super Eagles need to win their match today.

Lastly, a win against the Central African Republic will boost Nigeria's chances of qualifying for the World Cup in Qatar. If Nigeria finished as a group winner, they will face the winner of another group in good form.

On the other hand, if they fail to pick up maximum points now and fail to finish as group winners, they will face immediate elimination. This would be very tough for the Super Eagles.

For these reasons, Nigeria's Super Eagles cannot afford to give us another shocking loss against the Central African Republic. They have to beat the central African country away from home. There you have it, Eagles, you need to win your next match.

What do you make of this revelation? Can the Eagles do the job away from home? Have your say.
