Transfer: Manchester United sign World Cup winner on a one-year deal

Manchester United have confirmed the signing of World Cup winner, Tobin Heath on a one-year deal.

The USA international, joins Manchester United on a contract that spans till the climax of the 2020/2021 season.

Heath has spent the past seven seasons with National Women's Soccer League side, Portland Thorns. She also played in France for Paris Saint Germain in 2013 and 2014.

The 32 years old winger has been capped by the USA national team 168 times, winning 2 World Cups and 2 Olympic Gold medal in the process. 

The experienced winger was also shortlisted for the 2019 Women's Ballon d'Or.

After signing a one-year deal with Manchester United, Heath said: “I am trilled to be joining Manchester United because they are an exceptional club.

“I am looking forward to playing for Manchester United in the English League, against some of the best players in the world.

“I can't wait to start this new chapter with my new team because I have big ambitions for the coming season.”

In a statement, United's manager, Casey Stoney said: “She is an outstanding player who brings a lot of experience to the squad, we are all excited to have her with us in the club.”
