Opinion: Why Onuachu Has Failed To Shine For The Super Eagles

Nigerian born and current Belgian top-flight league 'Goal King' Ebere Paul Onuachu, ranks amongst Super Eagles player's who has failed to recreate their club form in the Nigeria Senior National team.

Cruising with 9 goals in 8 appearances so far in the current Belgian top-flight league, Onuachu has failed to live to expectations in the Green-White-Green colours since marking his debut in the Super Eagles team on 26 March 2019 against Egypt in Asaba, a debut he iced with a debut goal.

Born 28 May 1994, Ebere Paul Onuachu has been consistent in the 9 seasons he has played in Europe in the 9 seasons, right from his days with Danish giants, Midtjylland, Vejle and currently in Genk where he scored a total of 33 goals to emerge the league highest goal scorer in his second stint with the Belgian side.

Ebere Paul Onuachu inability to recreate his club form in the Super Eagles team has been a major topic discussion amongst Pundits, analysts and football enthusiasts with each of them with their own opinions.

In the Writer Opinion, Ebere Paul Onuachu poor form in the National team is owing to the fact that the Super Eagles gaffer philosophy doesn't match the pattern of play of the lanky Genk striker.

Dating back to his days in the Danish league, his coaches always plays formations that suites his pattern of play, a gesture he always reciprocated with good number of goals.

Nigerian Super Eagles gaffer, Gernot Rohr, pattern of play which entails his wingers dashing in from the channels to shoot at goal, a pattern which literally doesn't put to use Paul Onuachu core assest which thus make the Striker seem unproductive in the colours of the National team.

Paul Onuachu superb aerial ability ranks as his core assest reason why his Club sides always plays a formation which entails the wingers bringing in delightful crosses locating the lanky striker which he always bury at the back of the net.

With Gernot Rohr formation and its wingers pattern of play, Paul Onuachu will continue to struggle whilst a change to a formation which suites the lethal striker ability will bring out the best of the former Midtjylland striker.
