Chelsea manager provides injury updates on Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner.

Chelsea football club won 4-0 at home against Malmo in the Champions League, but were dealt two major blows when both striker Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner were forced off in the first half with injuries.

Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner are Chelsea's only strikers and their absence shows that Kai Havertz will get back to center forward position.

The defending champions played so badly when these two strikers got substituted and that same situation might continue happening till any of those striker returns

Chelsea manager provided an update about both strikers after the match against Malmo on Wednesday night

Thomas Tuchel in his words: “I don’t know too much more. Romelu twisted his ankle in the box and Timo has a hamstring injury. It will take a while for both of them.

“We need more examinations to be more precise but they will be out for some matches.” Thomas Tuchel said.

“If I knew before I wouldn’t have done it. It was important he was on the pitch and he started very strong. I spoke with him about the situation, told him that I think he has some mental fatigue. But he is our number nine and is our reference.

“We wanted to build our attack today with Mason and Timo around him and I had the strong belief that in a Champions League match he could turn things around and turn things around in scoring and being decisive, which he did because he was super strong in our start.

“Without him maybe it’s not 2-0. So I don’t regret it. It’s not a muscle injury or physical fatigue.”

With Lukaku and Timo Werner out can Chelsea FC top the premier league table?
