Portuguese international and football icon, Cristiano Ronaldo was in action on Wednesday night for Manchester United in their second game of the Group F UEFA Champions League ties against Villarreal at the Old Trafford.
The former Real Madrid and Juventus star was handed a role to play in his team's starting XI following his outstanding performance for the club in their previous game, having established himself as a key figure in the squad paraded by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer consequent to his legendary return in the last summer transfer window.
Cristiano Ronaldo was fantastic in the game as he inspired the Red Devils to a two goals to one comeback win with his late winner to snatch the whole three points of the game.
The first half of the game was such an intensed one between the two sides as there was nothing to separate them going into the half time break which ended goalless draw.
The visitor in the second half opened the scoring sheet with a goal from Paco Alcacer in the 53rd minute to make it one nil before Alex Telles levelled up for the host in the 60th minute to make it 1-1.
After so many attempts from both sides to add more to the tally of the night, all were not successful until the 95th minute when Cristiano Ronaldo scored the winner to make it two goals to one at full time.
The win for Manchester United has now taken them to the 3rd spot on the table with 3 points in 2 games played and as such be hoping to keep the winning streaks going in their next fixture, so as to continue their pursuit in the competition.
