Why Referee And VAR Refused To Cancel Ben Chilwell's Offside Goal After Review

Another unclear decision by the Video Assistant Referee after allowing Ben Chilwell's 17th minutes goal to stand despite a review that shows that Sancho was in an offside position.

Another outstanding performance from Gareth Southgate's team England in the world cup qualifying match against Andorra. It was an entertaining match between the two teams but England showed class despite benching most of their first eleven players for the game.

The likes Ben Chilwell, Tammy Abraham, Ward Prawse, Jesse Lingard

d and Foden returned to the starting line up after missing out for so long.

It was a good first 10 minutes match from both teams but a confused VAR and Referee's decision in the 17th minutes gave England the lead. Ben Chilwell's goal was earlier flag offside but after a VAR review, the goal was giving to the 3 lions.

Why the VAR and the Referee allowed the goal to stand is that after a proper review of the goal, It was observed that Jadon Sancho was onside before receiving the pass.

The England International was brilliant with his control which made it look like an offside before Ben Chilwell scored the goal.

The Video Assistant Referee and the center Referee were right to allow the goal to stand because Sancho was in an onside before before assisting Ben Chilwell with the goal.

England dominated the game right from the 17th minutes and a beautiful team work performance created Bukayo Saka's goal in the 40th minutes of the game.

England came back into the second half of the game with a better game plan before Tammy Abraham and Sancho's brilliant combination provided the 3rd goal of the match. The Manchester United player was impressive in the game with two assists.

Ward Prawse and Jack Grealish completed the score line in the last 15 minutes of the game. With the 5-0 win over Andorra, England are currently leading the group with 19 points after 7 games.

The likes of Tammy Abraham,Ben Chilwell, Foden and Saka will be hoping to get more playing time in their last qualifying match of the International break next week.
