Football sometimes may be so devastating that there have been records for huge defeats. However, some matches come with shocking results. I bring you the list of some of the most greatest defeat in foot history that will surely shock you. This article contains a list of the greatest defeats ever in each of Europe's Top 5 Leagues, the UCL and also the UEL.

Although football may be the most entertaining sport, it can bring major heartbreak sometimes. Some football fans lose their sleep if their team encounters a shocking defeat. TheNews Lite brings you the list of five of the greatest defeats in football history.

5. Tahiti 30-0 Cook Islands (1971)

Both these teams are representatives of the Oceanic Football Association. Tahiti notched a huge win (30-0) over the Cook Islands during the 1971 South Pacific Games.

4. Australia 31- 0 American Samoa (2001)

This match grew very famous because it was a FIFA World Cup qualification game. It is so famous that it was a trend on YouTube unlike others. However, after the trashing of American Samoa, they failed to reach the 2002 World Cup after they couldn't stand with Uruguay.

3. Dundee Harp 35-0 Aberdeen Rovers (1885)

The number three on the list is a shocking encounter of 35-0 (which the referee originally recorded as 38-0). However, this is not the most alarming as there are more coming up on the list. Both of these teams are from Scotland. They met in 1885 with Dundee Harp having no mercy on Aberdeen Rovers.

2. Arbroath 36-0 Bon Accord

This match took place on the same day in Scotland and broke the just made record of Dundee Harp. They however put one more through the net to be above Dundee Harp. John Petrie was the first man (18-year-old rather) to hold the record of 13 goals in a professional game.

1. A.S Adema 149-0 S.O L'emyrne (2002)

The match took place on October 31, 2002, in the Madagascar National Football Championship. It was the match with the most number of goals in world football history recognised by the Guinness Book of Records. This is the greatest defeat in football history so far. (What do you think about this piece of information).
