Arsenal had a shaky start to the 2021/22 season, but things are steadily improving. Mikel Arteta has helped to steady the ship, and the Gunners overcame Aston Villa last Thursday for their fourth win of the season.

Arsenal has not lost in their last five league games, and will now face Leeds United in the Carabao Cup Round of 16. Mikel Arteta will be completely committed in this Carabao Cup game since it is a significant chance for the club to win silverware this season. With an almost fully fit team to pick from, the Gunners have improved their performance dramatically in recent weeks.

Mikel Arteta will be tempted to maintain the same starting lineup as against Aston Villa, but Arsenal have a crucial EPL match against Leicester City coming up, so he will have to rotate his roster and rest some of his first-team regulars.

Arsenal team news versus Leeds United:

Aaron Ramsdale has established himself as Arsenal's first choice goalkeeper, but the summer arrival will be relegated to the bench now that Arteta has Bernd Leno as a backup.

Ben White and Gabriel have been playing nearly every week, so this is the perfect opportunity for the management to rest them. Rob Holding and Pablo Mari are two of the boss's backup defenders, and both have a chance to play in the starting XI.

Due to a damaged left ankle, Keiran Tierney missed the game against Aston Villa and will not be risked again this week. Nuno Tavares, 21, will keep his starting spot. Takehiro Tomiyasu will be replaced at right-back by Cedric Soares.

Because Granit Xhaka is still out with an injury, Lokonga should be paired with Thomas Partey, but Elneny is expected to take his position. The likes of Gabriel Martinelli and Eddie Nketiah will be fighting for starts, but we doubt the boss would rest both Lacazette and Aubameyang against Leeds United.

Lacazette has played relatively little football this season, so he's a bit fresher, which might help him keep his spot. The Frenchman started against Villa as a No 10, but as Martin Odegaard returns to the side on Tuesday, he should be moved up front. Mikel Arteta wants to rest Bukayo Saka after a streak of games, therefore Gabriel Martinelli and Nicolas Pepe will be the two wide players.

Arsenal predicted line up vs Leeds United:

Predicted Starting Line up: Leno; Mari, Rob Holding, Tavares, Soares; Thomas Partey, Elneny/Lokonga, Odegaard; Pepe, Martinelli, Lacazette.
