The National Sports Festival has seen some great performances from athletes which were drawn from the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory.
One of the high point of this event is the 10 year old girl, Stephanie Onusiriuka who won a gold medal in the Aerobics with 10.8 points. Her victory brings the total number of Gold medal won by Anambra State to 6. It is important to note that Aerobics is one of the sports under Gymnastics.
The young girl who represents Team Anambra had previously won 2 silver medal from the overall best gymnastics event in Nigeria and Floor Event. She also won a bronze medal in the beam event at the ongoing event. These brings the total number of her medal so far at the event to 4. This is such a great talent and with proper exposure and training, Nigeria will be winning its first ever gold medal in Gymnastics at the Olympic games in the near future. Once again Congratulations to Miss Stephanie Onusiriaku
