ButWe all know that in these modern football days, the tactics of the game is most times dependent on the flowing of passes in the middle and also the capturing of the midfield of the opponent.
In recent years, we have seen clubs dominating the world of football solely because of the players they have at the midfield position.
In 2009, Barcelona won all there is to win in the game. You know why? It was because of the players they have at the midfield. Players like Andreas Iniesta, Xavier Hernandez and Sergio Busquest who were seen bossing around the midfield.
Madrid also won the uefa champions league thrice in a row because of the the midfielder they had at that time. Toni Kroos, Luka Modric and Casmeiro was in charge of that territory and it gave the attackers to finish off the opponents easily.
Now to the main point of today.
David Josué Jiménez Silva is a Spanish professional footballer who played for Manchester City and is currently playing for La Liga club Real Sociedad. Silva plays mainly as a central or an attacking midfielder but can also play as a winger or second striker. He was also one of the integral part for what the Citizens are today. During his spell at the club, he won four premier league trophy. He netted 60 goals and gave 93 assists in his 309 appearance for the club.
He surely will be remembered for his spell at the club as they seems to put up his status at the outside of the Etihad Stadium.
Kevin De Bruyne is a Belgian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Premier League club Manchester City, where he is vice-captain, and the Belgian national team.
He is one of the most important player in Pep Guardiola's team.
He was named the man of the match after his fine performance against the in-form Borrusia Dortmund. He is notably known for his long range goals, assists and also his vision to pick out players in difficult angles.
In his 179 appearance for the club, he has scored 41 goals and counting, assisted his teammates 77 times and counting, won 2 Premier League Title(still counting) and many more. He won the award for the premier league best player of the 2019 season.
He recently signed a contract extension with the club that tied him till 2025. Will he be able to surpass the great David Silva and probably top the Premier League all time assist charts?
If your are the president of a football team, and you have the option and capitals to sign the one of these players at their prime, who would you splash your cash on?
