The Super Eagles deserved their 2-0 victory over Central African Republic in a 2022 World Cup qualifier in Douala on Sunday afternoon, making amends for their error in the first leg. Following the full-time result, CAR head coach Raoul Savoy, in his post-match press conference, said Nigeria should have done better over the two legs due to the Super Eagles' having better players.
He also said he would do a better job than Gernot Rohr if he was appointed as the Super Eagles manager.
In my Opinion, Raoul Savoy was unprofessional in making such a statement and should offer an apology to Gernot Rohr. Every coach is supposed to offer support to their colleagues during their difficult times, and I expected Savoy to have commended Rohr for achieving victory in the second leg.
Raoul Savoy should learn to accept defeat and be humble if he wants to become a world-class coach in the future.
