Arjen Robben Makes It To The Starting Lineup For FC Groningen After Returning From A 6-month Injury

Arjen Robben is not ready to hang his boots yet as he makes it to the starting lineup for FC Groningen. The 37-year-old came out of retirement to play for his first team in his senior career.

Robben has played in top clubs and he is regarded as a legend in the game. He always made a mark in whatever team he played for, a major reason why he is such a great player. When FC Groningen had Covid-19 setbacks, he decided to step out of retirement and help the club.

During a match against PSV, Robben picked up an injury which would put him out of the action for 6 months. He returned as a substitute on April 11th 2020 to face Heerenveen in a league match.

Robben made it to the first-eleven squad as FC Groningen played against FC Emmen. He gave 2 assists in a 4-0 win before he was subbed off in the 80th minute.

This goes to show he still has the spark in him and is still a threat regardless of his age.
