Serbia Open: Djokovic rises from Monte Carlo ruin

World number one, Novak Djokovic pulled a classic performance after he defeated Soonwoo Kwon on two straight sets, tagging his performance as 'pretty flawless'.

Recall that the 33-year-old suffered a major upset against Britain's Daniel Evans at the Rolex Monte Carlo Master last week

But the Serb upended Kwon on a 6-1,6-3 contest, as he's heading the event this year after the ATP Tour returned to Belgrade for the first time in 9 years.

“I thought I played very well from the very beginning, except that service game that I lost at 5-2 in the second [set], I thought it was a pretty flawless performance," he said

“I moved well, I was mixing up the pace quite well, making him play. I served well in the important moments, [and] overall I just felt great.”

“It gives you an extra push, an extra motivation, energy to reve your best and leave it all out on the court." he gave comments playing on home soil

“I think also that made me feel comfortable and confident on the court and I played read. I’m released with the quality of tennis.”, he added

Djokovic will be playing his countryman Miomir Kecmanovic at the quarter-finals of the event in Belgrade on Friday
