Currently, Ashrita Furman holds the record for breaking the most world records.
Born September 16th, 1954 in Brooklyn,New York , Ashrita’s started aspiring of becoming a multiple title holder as a young boy in the early 1960s, after he was fascinated with the annual Guinness World Records book.
Like his peers, young Ashrita was always eager to crack open the latest edition each year to see the world’s tallest, largest, quickest, and brightest.
Although he became captivated by record-holders from around the world, the book-smart Ashrita took his lack of athleticism to be a hindrance. He believed that physical strength would be vital to making record-breaking history.
According to wikipedia, Ashrita set his first world record by doing 27,000 jumping jacks in 1979.
As of 2014 ,Ashrita has set world record in all the 7 continent and 40 countries all over the world.
Some of his famous world record includes:
- Most sit up in an hour which he done at the Eiffel Tower.
- Hooping on a kangaroo ball which he done at Great wall of China.
- Distance pool cue balancing which he done at the Egyptian pyramids.
- Standing on a swiss ball at the Stonehenge.
According to THE GUINNESS WORLD RECORD, Ashrita has set more than 600 records and currently holds over 200.
