Real Madrid have been crowned champions of Spain after they beat Villarreal 2-1 in matchday 37 of the LaLiga.
On the other hand, Barcelona lost 2-1 at home to Osasuna. This has now made Real Madrid champions for the first time in 3 years.
Karim Benzema netted a brace on the night to give the Los Blancos all three points and also the cup.
However, Villarreal pulled one back through Vicente Iborra on the 82nd minute but that wasn’t enough to kill the party at Madrid.
With the win, it has now taken Madrid seven points clear from Barcelona with just one match to play for.
This is Zinedine Zidane’s first trophy since returning back to the Madrid club where he won 3 Champions League back to back with Cristiano Ronaldo.
Despite intense late pressure from the hosts, though, Madrid held firm, and as the final whistle blew on a crucial 2-1 victory, Zidane let out an almighty roar.
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE CHAMPIONS OF SPAIN, REAL MADRID.
