#AFCON2021: The 11 Super Eagles Players That Deserve To Start Against Sudan On Saturday

In matter of hours, the Super Eagles of Nigeria will be slugging it out against Sudan in their second group game that would determine their qualification for the round of 16. The Eagles who are still basking in the euphoria of their scintillating one-nil victory against the Pharaohs of Egypt on Tuesday, are no doubt the favorite to emerge winners.

Be that as it may, there is the need for the Eagles not to take the Sudanese for granted. We have to ride on this high momentum by starting the game with the following eleven players.

Unarguably I think Maduka Okoye deserves to start the next game. Although the Watford-bound shots stopper was virtually on holiday during the Egyptian game, he gave a good account of himself in blocking Mohamed Salah's sole opportunity.

I think there is no need to change these fantastic back four. Kenneth Omeruo and William Troost-Ekong were trojans in defence while Ola Aina and Zaidu Sanusi did everything right during their last game.

Of course, the heart and soul of these Eagles, Wilfred Ndidi and the hardworking Joe Aribo no doubt deserve to start. The best player in the first game, Moses Simon is expected to be causing damages at the left flank. Personally, I think Henry Onyekuru should start at the right flank since Chukwueze was not convincing in the last game.

Kelechi Iheanacho and Taiwo Awoniyi suppose to lead the attack on Saturday considering how devastating their combo were to the Pharaohs defence. It was unfortunate that Awoniyi was to profligate on that day. The coach should not waste time in bringing in Peter Olayinka should in case any of the top strikers were having a bad day on Saturday.
