2 World-class Players Who Could Retire From International Matches After The 2022 World Cup In Qatar

Many players might decide to focus on their club matches and retire after the World Cup in Qatar next year. But I will be focusing on two world-class players whose contributions to their country's team cannot be overemphasized. These are the two world-class players that could retire from international games.

1 Neymar: He made it clear in his statement today that next year's World Cup could be his last. That will not suffice for the fans who want to see the Brazilian in 2026.He has been the best player for his team since 2014. He was injured by a Colombian defender that landed him in the hospital. His injury then caused them to lose to Germany in 2014. He wants to focus on PSG in their bid to win the Champions League trophy this season. Neymar is already a national legend and can be put in the category with Ronaldinho, Pele, Rivaldo, Kaka, and Cafu.

2 Cristiano Ronaldo: He wants to focus on football matches after the 2022 World Cup. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner started playing for Portugal in 2004 when they lost to Greece during the Euros Final, and he has gone ahead to break Eusebio and Figo's records. He is regarded as the greatest player in Portugal because of the magnificent records he has broken. Portugal still rely on him for goals and might struggle to replace the striker in the next World Cup that is bound to happen in 2026.

Brazil will find a better replacement and new talents might emerge and become the new Neymar, but Cristiano is irreplaceable. Messi and Ibrahimovic might also follow in the footsteps of those players. Both Neymar and Ronaldo have been included in the latest Ballon d’or nomination. Cristiano Ronaldo is 36 years old and might retire in the next two years from football.
