Pep Guardiola reveals Man City injury news that could have impact on finals vs Man Utd & Inter

Pep Guardiola has provided an update on Nathan Ake's recovery from a hamstring injury and expressed optimism about his availability for Manchester City's upcoming finals in the next month.

Ake, who has faced a series of injury setbacks in recent weeks, sustained a hamstring problem during the clash against Bayern Munich on April 19. As a result, he was forced to sit out the following three matches. However, he made a triumphant return and even scored a goal in the victory against West Ham United at the beginning of May.

The former Bournemouth player also featured in the game against Leeds United three days later at the Etihad. Unfortunately, he had to be substituted in the second half due to a recurrence of the hamstring injury. Consequently, Ake has been absent from the team for the past four matches and is not expected to participate in the upcoming league match against Brighton & Hove Albion on Wednesday.

This situation has raised doubts about the 28-year-old's involvement in the FA Cup final against Manchester United, scheduled at Wembley next week, as well as the Champions League final against Inter Milan in Istanbul a week later, as City strives to secure their first-ever Champions League title.

When questioned about Ake's injury ahead of the midweek game at the Amex Stadium, Guardiola commented, "He is making progress." While uncertain about his availability for the immediate match or the subsequent fixture against Brentford, Guardiola emphasized the need for caution, considering it is Ake's second injury occurrence. The priority is to ensure Ake is fully fit in case his services are required for the clashes against Manchester United and Inter Milan.
