Daily Devotion: You Certainly Look Like What You Think

“For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he...” (Proverbs 23:7)

Today’s Text: Proverbs 23:1-9:

“As a man thinketh in his heart, so he is.” Must we always use this verse in reference to those who plan evil in their hearts? What about the righteous man? What about a man of faith as he thinketh in his heart? What about a man of miracles as he thinketh in his heart? As I think in my heart, so I am because I look like what I think. You look like what you think. Sometimes you’ll say, “Well, I don’t know how to break into the presence of God.” This is because the Lord has not captured your thoughts yet. When He does capture your thoughts, you will easily break into His presence.

Beloved, just think Jesus and you will break into the presence of God. Light and darkness cannot come together.

As soon as light comes, darkness disappears. When we sing that song “Nearer my God to thee,” remember that the greatest way to draw nearer to God is to think Jesus and you are automatically nearer. Think Jesus! You’re not just near, you are inside of Him. Think the Alpha, think the Omega, think the King of kings. Whatever you think overtakes you even before you know it. When you centre your mind on Jesus, it gives energy to your faith. Satan cannot overtake you.

The mind is one part of the body which the devil desires to take control of. If he cannot, neither can he catch your leg, eyes, hand, or fingers. If he has not caught your mind, then the headquarters is free. If your heart thinks Jesus day in and day out, Satan is wasting his time trying to engage you in a duel. As you think Jesus, the power of God is moving to that circumstance, to that situation, or problem. All the grounds which you have lost in the hand of the devil you’ll soon recover as you incubate the name of Jesus.

1.Pray for God to purify your heart and keep your thoughts clean and fresh.

2.Pray for the ability to store the word of God in your heart.

By the power of the Holy Spirit, I bring my thoughts in alignment with the word of God. As my thoughts align with the mind of God, I am enabled to live a holy life.
