FIFA World Cup

Last Lap to the Final Hurdle for the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

The National Football Team of Nigeria commonly called the Super Eagles are one of the Heavy Weights of African Football. The 3 time CAF  Nations Cup Champion are one of the Countries vying for the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup with its qualifiers presently going on all around the world.

In the European Region, power houses like Germany and France are already waiting for other countries to meet them in Qatar with the host country themselves.

Coming back to the African Region, Senegal and Morocco are already waiting in the next and the last round while others are trying to get there. Nigerian Super Eagles is one of those that their last match result will determine if they go home or go to the next round.

During their last encounter with the Liberian National Team, they won but, there were glaring struggles all through the match. I will suggest what needs to be done by the coach of the super eagles and also point out the errors of our formations in my points below:

#. 3 at the back: The Super Eagles are known for their attractive football through the wings with 4 at the back and a tough holding Midfielder so, this new 3 at the back that the gaffer has introduce needs to be mastered very well because 3 at the back defense needs pacey defenders that were also good in one on one situations. We won Liberia because they are naive and unlucky. Against a country like Senegal of Morocco, we won't find it funny. My suggestion is that the trio of Leon Balogun, Chidozie Awaziem, and Troost Ekong should not do too much and forget to defend. The Gaffer also if he must play 3 at the back, he should switch his 3-5-2 to 3-4-3 to allow a double holding Midfielder.

#. Change of Formation and Personnel: From the first point I raised, The Coach needs to Switch to 3-4-3 from 3-5-2 formation and to execute this formation very well, he needs to drop players like Ihenacho and replace with Ejuke in the middle. The 3 men up-front should be Moses Simon on the left of the 3, Samuel Chukueze on the Right side of the front 3 and Victor in the the middle of the front 3.

Ola Aina needs to come in later and play the right wing back role because of his attacking skill and defensive ability while Iwobi should grace the bench. Nigerian Super Eagles needs to play to win so that if that did not walk out, we can settle for a draw and get into the next round. In another words, our 3 at back against Cape Verde should be Chidozie Awaziem,Leon Balogun, Troost Ekong while our 4 players in the middle should be Collins, Ndidi, Aribo and Shehu. The 3 up front should be Samuel Chukueze, Victor Osihmen and Moses Simon.
