Atalanta scored two goals in the first half through Pasalic and Demiral. Pasalic opened the scoring in the 15th minute when he turned home a low cross, Demiral doubled the lead in the 28th minute by heading home from a corner-kick.
Manchester United responded in the second half with three huge goals from Rashford, Maguire and Ronaldo.
Rashford halved the deficit when played on goal by Fernandes' through ball. Maguire equalised in the 73rd minutes and Cristiano Ronaldo capped the comeback with what proved to be the winning goal when he headed home from Luke Shaw's inviting cross in the 81st minutes.
That makes it two consecutive UCL games that Ronaldo has scored the winner and three straight UCL games he has scored in. Having scored away to Young Boys, Villarreal (Old Trafford), and Atalanta (Old Trafford).
After the game, Legendary Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said: "Ronaldo is a champion, and we saw that it is never a coincidence that he turned up again with a wonderful header. We forget many times when we speak about him how good he is in the air."
United are next in action on Sunday against Liverpool in the Premier League at Old Trafford.
Liverpool Is currently on fire with Salah in the form of his life, banging in goals at will. He has scored in seven straight games, becoming the first Liverpool player to do so.
