First of, I would like to make clear that I appreciate what Degea has done for Manchester United . He was a beam of light during our worst era in decades and singlehandedly won us games, made so many ridiculous saves that it became normal to see him go superhuman.

Sacrificed trophies his talent rightly deserved and stayed with us. You don't become Manchester United's Player Of The Year 4 times for nothing.

He was the best goalkeeper in the world before the 2018 World Cup and will go down as one of the greatest Premier League goalkeepers of all time.

BUT, this is 2021 now and De Gea hasn't been That goalkeeper for a 3rd straight season. He consistently makes errors and costs us points, he was a big reason why we didn't finish in top 4 in 18/19. 

He is a shell of a goalkeeper he used to be, doesn't command his box well and hardly prevents goals now. Statistically the worst save percentage in the league except Patricio.

You can't compete for trophies with a keeper who is a liability especially when you have someone as talented as Dean Henderson sitting on the bench.

Henderson was very clear before the season started, he wanted to become first choice keeper. He's been very professional so far and patient, also hardly put a foot wrong except a singular error against Sheffield United which didn't cost anything in the end.But after the errors he sees De Gea make, he must be wondering when he will get an opportunity in the league. He will most likely start our next match in the FA Cup against West Ham, but he deserves to keep that spot in the league as well.

We honestly have nothing to lose by doing that because we only keep clean sheets when De Gea doesn't have much work to do. And that's just not good enough if we want the team to progress even further. Chelsea's defence did a complete 180 degree turn when Mendy was introduced and no reason why Dean can't do the same for us.

It's time for Henderson to Replace Degea as Manchester United First Choice Goalkeeper.
