The blues currently have 2 injured players, they are Andreas Christensen and Mateo Kovacic. Christensen sustained his injury at the late minutes of first half while facing Manchester city last weekend.
In order to cover up for him, Tuchel have added another youngster by name Levi Colwill to his first team.
Sources made it clear that Colwill will serve as a supporting defender till the end of the season. The blues also have other alternatives like Cesar Azplicueta and Kurt Zouma, these are experienced defenders who can fill up for Christensen.
In a press conference, Tuchel said that Christensen has not been entirely ruled out of this season, the Danish might possibly return against Astonvilla.
Levi Colwill is a central defender who plays for Chelsea U-23,much has not been heard about him since he is still 18 years. Tuchel is really following the footsteps of Frank Lampard, he added Livramento to Chelsea's lineup last week and has now promoted Levi.
This will pave way for other Chelsea academy players to get more playing opportunities in the future.
