Super Eagles Forward Named Player of the Year After Scoring 16 Goals For Top European Club Last Season

Terem Moffi is one of the Nigerian stars who had impressive performances across top five European Leagues in the 2020-21 season.

The 22-year-old scored 16 goals and three assists in 36 appearances in all competitions for Lorient despite joining them from Kortrijk in a deal worth N4 billion on October 2020.

His contributions helped Stade du Moustoir outfit finished 16th on the table with 42 points – and they will hope for a better outing in the coming campaign which kicks off a few days from now.

And he has now been crowned The Merlucciidaes’ player of the season - an award that was put up by Quest France Newspaper.

Moffi caught the attention of the Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr who handed him his maiden national team call up in May 2021 and then made his debut for the country’s national team in their 1-0 defeat to rivals Cameroon in a friendly game played on June 4.

Meanwhile, the attacker has been linked with a move to Turkish Super Lig outfit Galatasaray as well as Ligue 1 outfit Girondis Bordeaux this summer.

Christophe Pelissier’s men will aim for maximum points when they commence their campaign for the new season against Saint-Etienne next weekend.

After scoring 14 goals in 32 league games last season, the Nigerian star would be hoping to better the number this season while show his quality for other clubs to see.
