It was a day to remember for the girls and para soccer athletes who for so long, have been denied their overdue recognition.
With the pulsating beats of Mr P and Lyta to spice up the huge crowd , the stage was set for the grand finale of the maiden Noah Dallaji and Asisat Oshoala twin championship for girls and para soccer athletes in Lagos, Nigeria
Even though their more able bodied counterparts had not achieved as much laurels for the country, the physically challenged sportsmen and women have always received the short end of the goodies. Not anymore. Two public spirited and patriotic organizations, The African Children's Talent Discovery Foundation ACTDF and Asisat Oshoala Foundation have decided to change this sordid trend by ensuring that due recognition is given to female footballers and the physically challenged athletes and by so doing giving them a pride of place as patriotic Nigerians.
This informed the recent girls and para-soccer championship sponsored by the two organisations in Lagos. It was a great moment for these talents as they got a chance to showcase their football skills to the admiration of the huge crowd that graced the Teslim Balogun Stadium venue.
Mouth watering prizes were won by the winners and the icing on the cake was the donation of numerous brand new wheelchairs to the athletes by Noah Dallaji's ACTDF. The athletes who could not believe their eyes were filled with tears of joy. The buzz word at the event was that at last, the long-awaited new pillar of sports in Africa has been found in Engr. Noah Dallaji, the young patriotic businessman and philanthropist who has for the past decade been using his means to support worthy causes, especially sports and entertainment talents across Nigeria and rest of Africa.
The collaboration between Africa's most famous female footballer, Asisat Oshoala and one of the most generous philanthropists in Africa, Noah Dallaji has really changed the game as far as charity and talent development is concerned.
