8 Chelsea Academy Players Who Now Play For Other Premier Clubs Including Man City And Arsenal

Chelsea's academy is known for producing great talents over the year. Present senior players Mason Mount, Reece James, Andreas Christensen, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and Trevor Chalobah are products of the academy.

Here are eight Chelsea academy products playing for other clubs in the Premier League:

1. Declan Rice - West Ham

Rice was a Chelsea youth player between 2006 and 2014 before leaving to join West Ham. He graduated to the first team at West Ham in 2015 and has since established himself as one of the best defensive midfielders in the Premier League. He is just 22 years old.

2. Nathan Ake - Man City

The Netherlands center-back joined Chelsea from Feyenoord in 2010 at the age of 15. After debuting two years later, he had loan spells at Reading, Watford, and Bournemouth before joining the latter permanently. Man City paid £41 million for him in August 2020 and has won two trophies at the club since then.

3. Bertrand Traore - Aston Villa

Traore scored four goals in 16 appearances for Chelsea. After loan spells in the Netherlands with Ajax and Vitesse, he joined Lyon in 2017. In 2020, Aston Villa paid Lyon £17 million for his services. He has since registered 15 goals and assists in 43 games for Villa.

4. Marc Guehi - Crystal Palace

After 12 years in the youth team and another two with the first team making two appearances, the center-back joined Crystal Palace in the summer transfer window. The 21-year-old Ivorian has played in all eight games for Palace since then.

5. Tariq Lamptey - Brighton

Lamptey represented Chelsea youth teams between 2008 and 2019. The Ghanaian right-back made three senior appearances at the club before joining Brighton in January 2020.

6. Eddie Nketiah - Arsenal

Nketiah joined Chelsea in 2008 when he was nine years old and played for the youth teams before joining Arsenal in 2015. The striker broke into the Gunners' first team two years later. He has now scored 14 goals in 66 games for Arsenal.

7. Valentino Livramento - Southampton

The 18-year-old right-back was at Chelsea for 12 years. He moved to Southampton in July after a contract stall with Chelsea. He has played all of Southampton's seven league games since joining.

8. Ryan Bertrand - Leicester City

Bertrand played 57 games in 10 years as a Chelsea player. After nine loan spells with seven different clubs in England, he left permanently for Southampton in 2015. He recently joined Leicester City after spending six years with the Saints.
