Statistical analysis of how Chelsea's squad has been utilized this season

Only two regulars in Mason Mount and Edouard Mendy have played more than 80% of Chelsea's minutes, the joint lowest in the league.

Here's a graph of how the Chelsea squad has been used so far, as shared by the Athletic.

Chelsea have quite the large squad this season and that has been evident but how many players have played a varying number of minutes.

Mason Mount has been Chelsea's most used player, with both Frank Lampard and Thomas Tuhcel both relying on the brilliant youngster.

A lot of young players have seen heavy minutes with 7 of Chelsea's most used 11 players 27 or under, a result of Lampard's focus on youth.

This is likely to change under Thomas Tuchel as the likes of Marcos Alonso, Jorginho and Cesar Azpilicueta will see more minutes.

With no players having to have played an obscene amount of minutes, the squad will be fresh enough to make a surge for Top 4 while still trying to make a deep run in the Champions League.
